Why So Serious?

“ This town deserves a better class of criminal... and I'm gonna give it to them... “ The Joker in The Dark Knight
Indeed he did…Sadly, this is the last movie for Heath Andrew Ledger.
My review may come in late. But, I still think it is still worth mentioning that the latest Batman series – The Dark Knight, is a movie to die for. Mind you, I had watched most of the Batman series. Val Kilmer ( I find it hard to believe that the director would cast a blond as Bruce Wayne ), George Clooney ( well known for it nipple-traced suit ) and last but not least, Christian Bale ( I personally think that he is the best looking of the lot ).
Having watched Bale in the previous Batman movie, he has put on a little weigh for the latest one; which is good as I am so used to watching Batman in a quite fully-built figure. In The Dark Knight, Gotham city was in its’ darkest moment. Mafias roaming the city, wrecking havoc while its’ citizen living in fear.
With Joker, played brilliantly by late Heath Ledger, leading groups of crime lords into taking control of their so-called world, viewers can expect more bloody and gloomy atmosphere circling the crime-corrupted city. Ledger has brought the Joker’s character to a whole new level of psychopathic madness after his much controversial movie ‘ Brokeback Mountain ‘. Too bad that The Dark Knight is his last performance and that we will never going to see another pretty face gracing the silver screen.
Pssst…I would suggest you to watch The Brothers Grimm, Casanova to ease those love you have for him…
I would say that the director’s choice of the leading actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal ( Donnie Darko ) as Rachel Dawes prove to be fruitful. I think Rachel’s character requires someone more mature than Katie Holmes ( Oopsy! No hard feelings! ); in order to shorten the age gap between Bruce Wayne and Rachel Dawes.
Do you know how it feels watching The Dark Knight? Well, just like the Joker would have said "I use a knife because guns are too quick. Otherwise, you can't savor all the emotions. You know who people are in their last moments.... Exactly. In my opinion, my last moment watching The Dark Knight was like...wow...
By the way, you will see Edison Chen in here. Open your eyes and you will definitely see him around - for a glimpse of seconds...
My rate is 9/10.
